Locally Inspired

Local Tea Company promotes local products and services, protects local environments and celebrates local treasures. We believe great things start at the local level and not surprising, our motto is “Sip Locally”.

Three times more money is injected into the local economy when people buy from local businesses instead of national chains. Local businesses put their money back into the local economy while their employees and vendors contribute to a cycle of support that strengthens a community.

Our locally inspired loose leaf teas were created to celebrate Sarasota. Our most popular tea, Selby Select is inspired by Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, our home base since 2007. We have also created teas to celebrate the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest at Selby Gardens, including our Black Coconut, Acerola Green Tea, Sparkling Pineapple White Tea and our Dragonfruit Green Tea, each named for the specific parts of a rainforest; the forest floor, the understory, the emergent layer and the canopy.

Some of our other locally inspired teas include Mote Beach Tea, Mable’s Rose Rooibos, Van Wezel’s Anniversa-Tea, Siesta Tea, Lido Tea and Celebri-Tea created for the Sarasota Film Festival. We have been asked to create a tea for the Edison Ford Winter Estates in Fort Meyers and are very proud of our Edison Ford Fruit Tea. And we have organized two collections of teas, the Celebrating Sarasota Collection of Teas and the Rainforest Collection of Teas. And we are working on more clever creations of loose leaf tea blends.

We love Sarasota and we love sharing our community with the many visitors we meet every day. We appreciate all the support we have received and will continue to work hard to contribute to our local community.
