Tangy lemon and spicy ginger root blended with a mountain grown black tea from Sri Lanka. other flavors added to add to the celebration include lime pieces, pineapple and calendula petals.
The OP stands for Orange Pekoe, a grading designation for black teas determined by leaf size and wholeness, and signifying a better quality tea. Typically not used for flavored tea, we wanted the tea flavor to stand up to the ginger and lemon, and it does! Please note the ‘Orange’ in OP refers to the Dutch royal family and/or the coppery color depending on who you believe, though not related to flavor in any way.
This is a cleverly balanced tea, that is not overly sweet or too “gingery” and has become our preferred Iced Tea. We are very proud of this blend, though these two ancient flavors are not strangers and go together exceedingly well. This tea goes well with whatever is served for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!
Steep this tea multiple times as loose leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to the superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision, so please experiment to determine your preferences.
Use boiling water and allow your tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 6 minutes. For each of the following steeps use boiling water and double the steep time. The teas can be steeped at least 3 times and depending on the steep times, as many as 5 times. Also, consider blending the first steep with the following steeps to balance the tea. If you do not want to drink all the tea, store in fridge for wonderful iced tea.
Store in a dry place.
