FLAVOR, INGREDIENTS & BREWING

Our Hibiscus Loose Tea is from the Nile River Valley.  This scarlet red infusion comes from the sepals of the hibiscus plant, and is used as a cooling and refreshing drink since ancient times.

Related to the ornamental variety we know so well, hibiscus sabdariffa is native to Africa and symbolizes grace and beauty.

The plant is field-grown and sun-dried. The tea is rich in Vitamin A and C, contains Anthocyanin and beta-carotene antioxidants.  Excellent for replacing electrolytes and quenching thirst after vigorous exercise.  In conclusion, drink this tea to ease symptoms of cold, flu and coughs.

Hibiscus is a key ingredient in many of our herbal teas.  If you are drinking a red tea, chances are very high Hibiscus in one of the ingredients.  Some of the Local Tea Company products with Hibiscus include Mote Beach Tea, Peach Paradise, Organic Red Berries, Siesta Tea and that is the beginning of the list.  Enjoy.

Hibiscus can be brewed with ginger, clove, cinnamon and nutmeg for a holiday drink. We advise not to use milk.
