Mable’s Rose Rooibos
Mable Ringling’s Rose Garden is one of the loveliest spots on The Ringling estate. When in bloom, the most fragrant. And so is Mable’s Rose Rooibos Tea.
The 27,225 sq. ft. garden was completed in 1913. The pattern follows the traditional Italian circular garden design. While none of the original rose bushes planted by Mable Ringling survive, many of today’s 1,200 rose plants are of the same types planted by Mrs. Ringling. A rose dedicated to Mable Ringling is also featured in the garden.
The garden is accredited by All-American Rose Selections. Similarly, it was named the 2006 most outstanding All-American Rose Selections Public Rose Garden in the nation. And here is a guide to picking the best time to plant roses.
In honor of Mable’s love of roses, we offer Mable’s Rose Rooibos Tea. A blend of rose petals, sweet cherries and rooibos for a caffeine-free thirst quencher. Delicious hot or iced. This tea is part of the Celebrating Sarasota Collection of Teas.
20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.
