FLAVOR, INGREDIENTS & BREWING

Mote Beach Tea is a combination of fruits and herbs including coconut, apple, hibiscus, rosehips and pineapple. Mote Beach Tea contains no sugar and is naturally caffeine free.

Created to honor of the marine research conducted at Mote Marine Laboratory. This beach inspired loose leaf tea is a tisane and contains no true tea, Camellia sinensis.  High in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, in addition this tea is wonderful hot as a calming bedtime drink, or iced as a popsicle in the summer.

Available in distinctive blue bags that are re-sealable to maintain freshness. On the back of each package is an overview of Mote Marine Laboratory, and we have a blog post with even more details of this phenomenal fruit tea.

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.

Brewing Instructions for Mote Beach Tea

Steep this tea multiple times.  Loose leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to the superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision.  Please experiment to determine your preferences.

Use boiling water and allow your tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 10 minutes. For each of the following steeps use boiling water and double the steep time.  If you do not want to drink all the tea, store in fridge for wonderful iced tea.

Store in a dry place.

I bought this tea while visiting the beautiful Marie Selby Gardens a few months ago. Last night I finally brewed a cup. This is the best tea I have ever had in my life, it’s aromatic beyond what words could describe. It tastes amazing. It’s a tropical fruit flavored tea and I absolutely love it.

It’s hard to choose one tea over the others because they’re all so good, but Mote Beach is definitely one of my favorites. The flavor is a perfect combination of berry fruitiness and coconut. It has a lovely tropical flavor. I find plain liquid Stevia sweetens this tea better than honey or maple syrup since it allows the fruit’s flavors to come through better. Being caffeine free, I can have it in the evening and not worry about it affecting my sleep.

Whomever is crafting these flavors is a master at flavor combining. I have found one other company that had ONE tea of their many blends comparable in flavor to these teas. Local Tea has a fantastic and varied line of teas. I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t comment on their coffees, but I suspect they are superb as well.

I have been drinking Mote Beach tea for years. In my estimation it does not need to be sweetened. I love it best as iced tea! It is the only tea I have ever had with coconut in it!
