FLAVOR, INGREDIENTS & BREWING

Nilgiri Black Loose Leaf Tea from the Tiger Hill Estate in Southern India is very smooth, naturally sweet with a distinct, fruit-like floral character.

Nilgiri is a mountainous region in the State of Tamil Nadu, South East India. The peaks rise to an elevation of 8,500 feet above sea level with soil and climatic conditions producing very distinctive teas.

The Tiger Hill Estate is small as tea growing estates go and is a respected employer with above average labor practices. This tea is produced each January when the sun shines more intensely; there are fewer clouds, cooler temperatures and virtually no rain. These are all perfect conditions for a stunning tea.

Our Nilgiri has an exceptional fruit like flavor and bright copper color suitable for drinking any time of day. Some milk and a dash of sugar will only compliment the flavor of this tea but truly it does not need another thing. And if you like iced black tea, this is the one for you!

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.

BREWING INSTRUCTIONS – Steep this tea multiple times as loose leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to the superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision, so please experiment to determine your preferences.

Use boiling water and allow your Nilgiri Black Tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 6 minutes. For each of the following steeps use boiling water and double the steep time. Nilgiri Black Tea can be steeped at least 3 times and depending on the steep times, as many as 5 times. Also, consider blending the first steep with the following steeps to balance the tea. If you do not want to drink all the tea, store in fridge for wonderful iced tea.

Store in a dry place.
