This gift set includes one packet of each of the four Rainforest Collection of Teas created by Local Coffee + Tea to celebrate the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. A safe, natural place for young children and their families to develop a life-long appreciation for the living world through outdoor play, discovery, and learning. You will also receive a box of 100 tea sacks for a combined value of $42.
The four elements of a Rainforest include; the Forest Floor, a Shrub Layer or Understory, the Canopy Layer and an Emergent Layer. Local Coffee + Tea has used these components as a guide in naming our Rainforest Collection of Teas.
- Black Coconut “Rainforest Canopy” Tea – A delicious, tropical taste of paradise! Black tea with coconut and pineapple pieces. Refreshing and revitalizing.
- Acerola Green “Rainforest Understory” Tea – Acerola is a ‘superfruit’ high in antioxidants, also known as Barbados Cherry (Malpighia emarginata). Our Acerola Green Tea is perfectly blended with sencha green tea, pineapple bits and calendula.
- Sparkling Pineapple White “Rainforest Emergent” Tea – Strawberry, orange, pineapple and calendula blended with ‘pai mu tan’ white tea and ‘sencha’ green tea. This tea will sparkle on your tongue.
- Dragonfruit Green “Rainforest Floor” Tea – A blend of lemongrass, raspberry, pomegranate, kiwi and dragonfruit combined with a trio of white, green and ‘kukicha’ or twig teas. A veritable rainforest of flavor.
Join us in celebrating the world’s rainforests and those dedicated to protecting these living treasures.
20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf tea.
Steep this tea multiple times as loose leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to the superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision, so please experiment to determine your preferences.
Use boiling water and allow your tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 6 minutes. For each of the following steeps use boiling water and double the steep time. The teas can be steeped at least 3 times and depending on the steep times, as many as 5 times. Also, consider blending the first steep with the following steeps to balance the tea. If you do not want to drink all the tea, store in fridge for wonderful iced tea.
Store in a dry place.
