Seattle Spearmint Tea

Seattle Spearmint Tea is as local as we could get, grown in the state of Washington. A lively herbal tea made from pure spearmint, Mentha spicata.

Field-grown, sun-dried and then milled, this Spearmint Tea provides a pungent, fresh taste that will certainly take your breath away.

Spearmint, menthe spicata, is the most well-known of the mint family and is highly appreciated for its digestive properties and ability to relieve nausea, especially due to motion sickness. Inhaling a double-strength infusion can help relieve nasal congestion and, as a compress, will soothe itching and inflammation.

What is the difference between Peppermint and Spearmint? The Spearmint leaves are fuzzier, and the Peppermint leaves are shiny. And, when you inhale Spearmint, you don't get the cool sensation you get from Peppermint.

We like to drink this tea at Local Tea Company, perfect hot as an after-dinner soother but a superb “pick-me-up” during the day. Seattle Spearmint Tea can be served sweetened but tastes just as good without and is excellent over ice for a refreshing and cooling caffeine-free drink.

20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose-leaf tea. We also suggest steeping our Seattle Spearmint Tea multiple times for even more cups of great tea.

Brewing Instructions for Seattle Spearmint Tea

Steep this tea multiple times. Loose-leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to their superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision. Please experiment to determine your preferences.

Use boiling water and allow your Seattle Spearmint Tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 10 minutes. For each of the following steeps, use boiling water and double the steep time; if you do not want to drink all the tea, store it in the fridge for wonderful iced tea.

Store in a dry place.
