Bertha Palmer Rooibos is a soothing, herbal blend with licorice root, fennel, peppermint, cinnamon, and lemon verbena. This tea is naturally caffeine-free.
When Mrs. Potter Palmer (Bertha Honoré Palmer), the well-traveled and powerful Chicago socialite, first set eyes on Sarasota in 1910, she proclaimed, ‘Here is heaven at last. For instance, she soon owned 80,000 acres of what is now Sarasota County. Palmer operated a successful ranch and made her winter home at The Oaks on Historic Spanish Point.
Her husband, Potter Palmer, created the luxury hotel The Palmer House in Chicago. Besides, Mrs. Palmer is credited with inventing the brownie. She instructed the pastry chef to create a portable version of chocolate cake. However, the original recipe has been lost to history. The current Palmer House Hotel offers the Palmer House Brownie, their most popular dessert.
