Lemon Ginger Black Tea (OP)
Lemon Ginger Black Tea (OP)
Lemon Ginger Black Tea
Our Lemon Ginger Black Tea has tangy lemon and spicy ginger root blended with a mountain-grown black tea from Sri Lanka. Other flavors added to the celebration include lime pieces, pineapple, and calendula petals.
The OP stands for Orange Pekoe, a grading designation for black teas determined by leaf size and wholeness, signifying a better quality tea.
Typically not used for flavored tea, we wanted the tea flavor to stand up to the ginger and lemon, and it does!
Please note the 'Orange' in OP refers to the Dutch royal family and/or the coppery color, depending on who you believe, but is not related to flavor.
This cleverly balanced tea is not overly sweet or too "gingery" and has become our preferred Iced Tea. We are very proud of this blend.
These two ancient flavors are not strangers and go together exceedingly well. This tea goes well with whatever is served for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!
Brewing Instructions for Lemon Ginger Black Tea
Steep this tea multiple times. Loose-leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to their superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision, so please experiment to determine your preferences.
Use boiling water and allow your Lemon Ginger Black Tea to steep as little as 3 minutes or as much as 6 minutes. For each of the following steeps, use boiling water and double the steep time.
Black teas can be steeped at least three times and, depending on the steep times, as many as five times. Also, consider blending the first steep with the following steeps to balance the tea; if you do not want to drink all the tea, store it in the fridge for wonderful iced tea.
Store in a dry place.
