Organic Red Rooibos Tea
Our Organic Red Rooibos Tea is fully oxidized. We love the many flavored Rooibos Teas we offer, and this is the base for all of them. And the purest form.
CERTIFIED ORGANIC and naturally caffeine-free, this crimson infusion offers sweet, fruity notes.
High in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, rooibos can have a soothing effect on headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns, and digestive issues.
Rooibos Tea
Naturally caffeine-free. Rooibos is a direct translation from Afrikaans, meaning “red bush,” and is a natural herb that grows around 1500 to 2000 feet above sea level in the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape, South Africa.
Rooibos seeds are planted during February and March and tended for 18 months. The entire bush is harvested, cut, and milled to a uniform length.
Then the lengths of Organic Red Rooibos Tea are bruised between rollers to trigger the oxidation process. This turns the tea from green to its characteristic reddish-brown color, in addition to developing a naturally sweet aroma.
Rooibos has a soothing effect on headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns, and digestive or colic problems.
Our daily recommended nutrients can be derived from hot or iced cups of Rooibos Tea, such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Fluoride, Manganese, and Sodium. In other words, healthy skin, teeth, bones, blood, and metabolic functions.
Does this all sound too good to be true? We don’t think so, and we drink a ton of Rooibos at Local Tea Co., and we are all very healthy specimens!
20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose-leaf rooibos. Steep our Rooibos multiple times for even more cups of great tea.
